Robert Ellenstein (June 18, 1923 – October 28, 2010) was an American actor known for his work in film and television. He began his career during the 'Golden Age' of live television and gained recognition for his portrayal of Quasimodo in a live version of 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame.' Ellenstein was also the first actor to portray Albert Einstein on television. He made his film debut in 1954 in MGM's 'Rogue Cop' and went on to appear in Alfred Hitchcock's 'North by Northwest.' Additionally, he guest starred in three episodes of Perry Mason and played the role of mobster Legs Diamond in NBC's 'The Lawless Years.' Ellenstein served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart for his service.
