Robert Evans Biography
Robert Evans (born Robert J. Shapera; June 29, 1930 – October 26, 2019) was an American film producer, studio executive, and actor. He gained recognition for his work on iconic films including Rosemary's Baby (1968), Love Story (1970), The Godfather (1972), and Chinatown (1974). Before entering the film industry, Evans had a successful business selling women's apparel with his brother. He briefly pursued acting after being discovered by actress Norma Shearer, but later transitioned into producing. As the head of Paramount Pictures in 1967, he revitalized the studio's success through a series of acclaimed films. Evans continued producing films independently after leaving Paramount in 1974. He passed away in 2019.
