Robert Foxworth is an American film, stage, and television actor. He was born on November 1, 1941, in Houston, Texas. Foxworth attended Lamar High School and later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting from Carnegie Mellon University. His acting career began on stage at Washington, DC's Arena Stage, where he gained recognition. Although he was offered the role of J. R. Ewing in Dallas, he turned it down, and the role went to Larry Hagman. Foxworth is best known for his roles in television series such as The Storefront Lawyers (1970–1971), Falcon Crest (1981–1987), and Six Feet Under (2001–2003). He also had a starring role in Gene Roddenberry's 1974 movie The Questor Tapes.
