Robert Ito is a Canadian actor of Japanese ancestry, born on July 2, 1931. He has had a successful career in television and film, with notable roles including Sam Fujiyama on the NBC series Quincy, M.E. from 1976 to 1983, and Larry Mishima on the CBS primetime soap opera Falcon Crest. In addition to his on-screen work, Ito has also done voice acting for animation. He was recognized for his performance in the 1994 film Trial at Fortitude Bay and was nominated for a Gemini Award. Before transitioning into acting, Ito was a dancer with the National Ballet of Canada and performed on Broadway in shows like Flower Drum Song. Throughout his career, he has portrayed various Asian or Asian-ancestry characters in American productions, including multiple appearances on the TV series Kung Fu.
