Robert LuPone (July 29, 1946 – August 27, 2022) was an American actor and artistic director. He was known for his work on stage, in film, and in television. Born on July 29, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, LuPone was the brother of actress Patti LuPone. He trained as a dancer and graduated from the Juilliard School, studying under renowned teachers such as Antony Tudor, Jose Limon, and Martha Graham. LuPone made his Broadway debut in 1968 as a dancer and went on to have a successful career in theater, performing in notable productions such as 'True West' and 'A Chorus Line.' He also appeared in films and television shows throughout his career.
