Robert Rodriguez Biography
Robert Anthony Rodriguez (born June 20, 1968) is an American filmmaker, composer, and visual effects supervisor. He is known for shooting, editing, producing, and scoring many of his films in Mexico and his home state of Texas. Rodriguez gained commercial success with his 1992 action film El Mariachi, which was made on a budget of $7,000 and grossed $2.6 million. He went on to direct the sequels Desperado and Once Upon a Time in Mexico, collectively known as the Mexico Trilogy. In addition, Rodriguez directed From Dusk till Dawn and developed its television adaptation series. He co-directed the crime thriller anthology Sin City and its sequel, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Rodriguez is also the creator of the Spy Kids franchise and has directed films like The Faculty, Alita: Battle Angel, Planet Terror, Machete, and We Can Be Heroes.
