Robert Schenkkan Biography
Robert Schenkkan is an American playwright, screenwriter, and actor. He was born on March 19, 1953, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. His notable achievements include receiving the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1992 for his play The Kentucky Cycle and winning the Tony Award for Best Play in 2014 for his play All the Way. Schenkkan has also been nominated for three Emmy Awards and has won a WGA Award. He grew up in Austin, Texas, where his father was a professor at The University of Texas at Austin. Schenkkan graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Drama from the University of Texas and later earned an M.F.A. in Theatre Arts from Cornell University. He has worked in both New York City and Los Angeles throughout his career.
