Robert Stack Biography
Robert Stack (1919-2003) was an American actor and television host known for his deep voice and commanding presence. He appeared in over forty feature films and starred in the ABC series The Untouchables (1959-1963), winning a Primetime Emmy Award for his performance. Stack also hosted and narrated the true-crime series Unsolved Mysteries (1987-2002). He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Written on the Wind (1956). Later in his career, Stack took on deadpan comedy roles that parodied his dramatic persona, including his memorable role as Captain Rex Kramer in Airplane! (1980).
