    Rodney Peete is an American former professional football player who played as a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on March 16, 1966, in Mesa, Arizona and attended Sahuaro High School in Tucson, where he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. Peete transferred to Shawnee Mission South High School in Overland Park, Kansas for his senior year. He played college football for the USC Trojans and was named a first-team All-American in 1988. Peete was selected in the sixth round of the 1989 NFL Draft and played for several teams including the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Oakland Raiders, and Carolina Panthers.
