Roger Rees Biography
Roger Rees (5 May 1944 – 10 July 2015) was a Welsh actor and director, best known for his work on stage. He achieved critical acclaim and won both an Olivier Award and a Tony Award for his lead performance in The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby. Rees also received Obie Awards for his role in The End of the Day and as co-director of Peter and the Starcatcher. He appeared in popular American television shows such as Cheers as Robin Colcord and The West Wing as Lord John Marbury. Additionally, he portrayed the Sheriff of Rottingham in Mel Brooks' Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Rees was posthumously inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in November 2015.
