Roma Downey is an Irish actress, producer, and author, born on May 6, 1960. She gained popularity for her role as Monica the angel in the long-running CBS television series Touched by an Angel, which spanned nine seasons. Downey also portrayed Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the Emmy award-winning NBC mini-series A Woman Named Jackie. She has appeared on stage with renowned theaters such as the Abbey Theatre and The National Theatre of Ireland, as well as on and off Broadway. Downey has produced and starred in several television movies for CBS and served as the President of Lightworkers Media, the faith and family division of MGM. Alongside her husband, Mark Burnett, Downey executive-produced the Emmy-nominated miniseries The Bible and the feature film Ben-Hur.
