Ron DeSantis

Ronald Dion DeSantis is an American politician who has been serving as the 46th governor of Florida since 2019. Prior to his current position, DeSantis represented Florida's 6th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2013 to 2018. He is a member of the Republican Party and is also a candidate in the 2024 United States presidential election. Born in Jacksonville, DeSantis grew up in Dunedin, Florida. He earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University and went on to graduate from Harvard Law School. DeSantis served in the United States Navy and was deployed to Iraq in 2007. After his military service, he worked as a special assistant U.S. attorney in Florida before entering politics.
