Ron Palillo

Ronald Gabriel Palillo (April 2, 1949 – August 14, 2012) was an American actor and teacher. He is best known for his role as Arnold Horshack on the ABC sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter (1975–1979). Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Palillo was raised in nearby Cheshire. He attended Cheshire High School and the University of Connecticut at Storrs, where he later taught in the 1990s. Palillo adopted the last name Palillo for his acting career. After Welcome Back, Kotter, he appeared in various TV shows and movies. Palillo's portrayal of Arnold Horshack made him a standout character in the series and endeared him to audiences.
