Ron Raines

Ron Raines (born December 2, 1949) is an American actor known for his role as Alan Spaulding on the television soap opera Guiding Light. He was born in Texas City, Texas and developed an interest in music through his father, who was a Church of the Nazarene minister. Raines graduated from Nacogdoches High School and later attended Oklahoma City University and Juilliard. He pursued a career in performing after completing his studies. In addition to his television work, Raines also performs in musical theater and in concert with symphony orchestras. He has been nominated for three Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Alan Spaulding.
