Rory McCann Biography
Rory McCann is a Scottish actor born on April 24, 1969, in Glasgow, Scotland. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane on the HBO series Game of Thrones. McCann also appeared as Michael 'Lurch' Armstrong in Hot Fuzz (2007), Jurgen the Brutal in Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), and voiced Megatron in Transformers: EarthSpark. Prior to his acting career, McCann studied painting at the Scottish School of Forestry and worked as a bridge painter, landscape gardener, and carpenter. He received training as an actor at The Actor's Workshop in Glasgow in 1998. McCann's first acting job was as an extra in the film Willow (1988), and he later appeared in an advertisement for Scott's Porage Oats.
