Rose Matafeo

Rose Matafeo is a New Zealand comedian, actress, and TV presenter. She gained recognition as a writer and performer on the late-night comedy sketch show Funny Girls. Matafeo was born on 25 February 1992 in Auckland and grew up in Ponsonby. She attended Auckland Girls' Grammar School, where she was head girl. Matafeo's comedic talent emerged at the age of 15 when she began doing stand-up comedy through the 'Class Comedians' program. She has since become a regular at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, winning the 'Nailed It on the Night' award in 2007. In 2018, Matafeo received the coveted Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for her show Horndog.
