Roseanne Barr

Roseanne Cherrie Barr, born on November 3, 1952, is an American actress, comedian, writer, and producer. She began her career in stand-up comedy in 1980 and gained recognition through her role in the television sitcom Roseanne (1988–1997; 2018). Barr's portrayal of the working-class character Roseanne Conner earned her critical acclaim, leading to an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Alongside her success, Barr faced controversy in 1990 when her performance of the national anthem at a baseball game sparked outrage for being perceived as disrespectful. In addition to her entertainment career, Barr has been vocal about political issues and ran for president as a Green Party candidate in 2012.
