Roy Choi (born February 24, 1970) is a Korean-American chef known for his innovative and influential contributions to the culinary industry. He gained prominence as the creator of the gourmet Korean-Mexican taco truck Kogi and is considered one of the founders of the gourmet food truck movement. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Choi was raised in Los Angeles and Southern California. He comes from a family with a diverse entrepreneurial background, including businesses in liquor, dry-cleaning, and jewelry. In 2019, Choi began co-hosting the cooking series 'The Chef Show' on Netflix alongside Jon Favreau.
