Royce D. Applegate Biography
Royce D. Applegate (December 25, 1939 – January 1, 2003) was an American actor and screenwriter. Born in Midwest City, Oklahoma, Applegate had a successful career in film and television. He is best known for his role as Chief Petty Officer Manilow Crocker on the first season of the television series seaQuest DSV. He also appeared in films such as Stir Crazy (1985), where he portrayed Deputy Crawford, and Gettysburg (1993) and Gods and Generals (2003), where he portrayed Confederate General James L. Kemper. Tragically, Applegate passed away on January 1, 2003, at the age of 63, in a fire at his Hollywood Hills home, just one week after his birthday.
