Rudy Boesch

Rudolph Ernst Boesch (January 20, 1928 – November 1, 2019) was a United States Navy SEAL and a two-time competitor on the reality competition show Survivor. Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Boesch enlisted in the United States Navy at age 17. He served as an Underwater Demolition Team (UDT) Frogman and was chosen to be one of the first SEALs, eventually becoming chief of the boat for SEAL Team TWO. Boesch completed two combat deployments during the Vietnam War, earning the Bronze Star for his heroism. He later served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for United States Special Operations Command. Boesch was known for his physical fitness training regimens and military appearance, earning the nickname 'Bullfrog' as the longest-serving SEAL on active duty.
