    Russ Mitchell (born March 25, 1960) is an American journalist known for his career at CBS as anchor of The Early Show on Saturday, news anchor for The Early Show during the week, and weekend anchor of the CBS Evening News. In 2011, Mitchell joined WKYC in Cleveland, Ohio, as a lead anchor. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Rock Hill. Mitchell attended high school in Webster Groves and graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Journalism degree in 1982. His television career began while in high school, working part-time at KTVI in St. Louis. Mitchell has also worked as a reporter for KMBC in Kansas City, an anchor for WFAA in Dallas, and a reporter at KTVI in St. Louis.
