Russell Wayne Harvard is an American actor born on April 16, 1981, in Pasadena, Texas. He gained recognition for his role as H.W. Plainview, the adopted son of Daniel Day-Lewis' character, in Paul Thomas Anderson's film There Will Be Blood (2007). In the 2010 biopic The Hammer, he portrayed the deaf NCAA championship wrestler and UFC fighter Matt Hamill. Harvard received critical acclaim for his performance as Billy in the Off-Broadway play Tribes by Nina Raine. He won the 2012 Theatre World Award for Outstanding Debut Performance and received nominations for Drama League, Outer Critics Circle, and Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor. Harvard is also known for his role as Mr. Wrench in the television series Fargo.
