Russell Dominic Peters is a Canadian stand-up comedian, actor, and producer. Born on September 29, 1970, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Peters began his career in 1989 and gained recognition for his talent. He won a Gemini Award in 2008 and ranked number three on Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid comedians in 2013. Peters made history as the first comedian to have a Netflix stand-up special. He also received the Peabody Award and the International Emmy Award for Best Arts Programming for producing Hip-Hop Evolution (2016). Peters, who is of Anglo-Indian descent, currently resides in Los Angeles.
