Ryan Christian Kwanten is an Australian actor and producer. He gained recognition for his role as Vinnie Patterson in the Australian soap opera Home and Away from 1997 to 2002. Following this, he joined the American teen drama series Summerland, where he portrayed the character Jay Robertson. Kwanten is best known for his role as Jason Stackhouse in the supernatural drama series True Blood, which aired from 2008 to 2014. He has also produced and starred in the crime drama series The Oath as Steve Hammond and appeared in the horror drama anthology series Them as George Bell. Kwanten recently portrayed Thomas Weylin in the TV adaptation of Octavia E. Butler's novel Kindred. Born on November 28, 1976, in Terrigal, New South Wales, Kwanten is one of three brothers and attended St Paul's Catholic College before pursuing a career in acting.
