He gained recognition in the late 1990s for his roles in films like I Know What You Did Last Summer, 54, Playing by Heart, and Cruel Intentions. Throughout the 2000s, Phillippe took on diverse roles in movies such as The Way of the Gun, Antitrust, Gosford Park, Crash, and The Lincoln Lawyer.
