    Ryan Sutter Biography
    Ryan Allen Sutter (born September 14, 1974) is an American television personality and former football player. He gained fame as the winner of the first season of the dating competition reality TV show The Bachelorette, where he was chosen by Trista Rehn. Sutter, a Colorado firefighter, and Rehn tied the knot in a televised wedding on ABC in December 2003. Prior to his reality TV success, Sutter played college football as a defensive back for the Colorado Buffaloes football team. He was then drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round of the 1998 NFL Draft and later played briefly for the Carolina Panthers. Sutter continues to work as a firefighter in Fort Collins, Colorado.
