Sabrina Tavernise
Sabrina Tavernise (born February 24, 1971) is an American journalist known for her work with The New York Times. She currently writes for the Times and is a co-host of the podcast The Daily. Tavernise has served as a war correspondent, reporting from conflict zones such as Iraq, Lebanon, and Russia. She has covered significant events, including the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Raised in Granville, Massachusetts, Tavernise attended Westfield High School and earned a B.A. in Russian studies from Barnard College of Columbia University in 1993. Her career includes managing a business training center in Magadan, Russia, and working as a freelance writer for publications like BusinessWeek. Tavernise joined The New York Times in 2000 as a Moscow correspondent and has since reported from various countries, including Iraq, Pakistan, and Turkey.
