Sam Ball

Sam Ball (born June 1, 1944) is a former American football offensive lineman who played in the National Football League (NFL) from 1966 through 1970. He played college football at the University of Kentucky. Ball appeared in Super Bowl III and Super Bowl V for the Baltimore Colts. In Super Bowl III, he was the starting offensive right tackle for the Colts against the Jets. Although they lost the game, Ball went on to win a Super Bowl ring in Super Bowl V. He was drafted by the Jets in 1966 but chose to sign with the Colts, which influenced the Jets' drafting decisions.
