Sam Freed Biography
Sam Freed (born August 29, 1948) is an American actor known for his performances on Broadway, television, and in movies. He gained recognition for his role as Bob Barsky in the last three seasons of the television series Kate & Allie. In the short-lived series Ferris Bueller, he portrayed Bill Bueller, the father of the title character. Freed also appeared as James C. Whiting III, the executive editor of The Baltimore Sun, in the fifth and final season of The Wire. He has acted in various Broadway productions and has honed his skills at the York Little Theatre and Penn State, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre. Sam Freed was married to the late actress Barrie Youngfellow, who co-starred in the sitcom series It's a Living.
