Sam Gold is an American theater director and actor known for his work on Broadway and Off-Broadway. He studied at Cornell University and Juilliard School, honing his skills in directing musicals and plays. Gold made his Broadway debut in 2011 with the play Seminar, and went on to direct acclaimed productions such as Picnic, The Realistic Joneses, The Real Thing, and Fun Home, for which he received a Tony Award. He has also directed notable revivals including The Glass Menagerie, A Doll's House, Part 2, King Lear, and Macbeth. Born and raised in Westchester and New York City, Gold comes from a family with a background in finance and art.
