    Sam Gold Biography
    Sam Gold is an American theater director and actor known for his work on Broadway and Off-Broadway. He studied at Cornell University and the Juilliard School. Gold made his Broadway debut in 2011 directing the play Seminar by Theresa Rebeck. He has since directed a number of notable productions, including the revival of Picnic by William Inge in 2013, The Realistic Joneses by Will Eno in 2014, and The Real Thing by Tom Stoppard in 2015. Gold received the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for his work on Fun Home in 2015. He has also directed revivals of The Glass Menagerie, A Doll's House, Part 2, King Lear, and Macbeth. Gold was raised in Westchester and New York City and comes from a family with a background in finance and the arts.
