Sam Kelly Biography
Sam Kelly (19 December 1943 – 14 June 2014) was an English actor known for his work in film, television, radio, and theatre. He is most recognized for his roles as Captain Hans Geering in 'Allo 'Allo!, Warren in Porridge, Sam in On the Up, and Ted Liversidge in Barbara. Born in Salford, Lancashire, on December 19, 1943, Kelly was adopted by a couple who later moved to Liverpool. He attended the Liverpool Collegiate School and trained as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Kelly's early career included appearances in the films Tiffany Jones (1973), Carry On Dick (1974), and Carry On Behind (1975). He had a successful career in both stage and screen, working in repertory theatres throughout the UK.
