Sam Trammell (born January 29, 1969) is an American actor known for his role as Sam Merlotte on the HBO fantasy drama series True Blood. He received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in Ah, Wilderness! Trammell has an extensive background in theater and has appeared in productions such as Dealer's Choice, My Night with Reg, If Memory Serves, and Ancestral Voices. He also starred in the film White Rabbit in 2013 and played the role of Michael Lancaster in the film adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars. Recently, Trammell starred in the Netflix horror-drama series, The Order.
