Sam John Troughton (born March 21, 1977) is an English actor known for his appearances in various movies and TV shows. He has been featured in popular productions such as Robin Hood (2006-2009), Alien vs. Predator (2004), Hex (2005), The Town (2012), The Hollow Crown (2016), The Ritual (2017), Peterloo (2018), Chernobyl (2019), The Outlaws (2021), and Litvinenko (2022). Troughton comes from a family with a strong acting background. He is the son of actor David Troughton and the grandson of Patrick Troughton, who notably played the second Doctor in Doctor Who. Troughton has also worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and has received multiple nominations for the prestigious Ian Charleson Awards for his performances in classic plays.
