Samin Nosrat
Samin Nosrat (born November 7, 1979) is an Iranian-American chef, TV host, food writer, and podcaster. She is best known as the author of the James Beard Award-winning and New York Times Bestselling cookbook Salt Fat Acid Heat. She also hosted a Netflix docu-series of the same name. From 2017 to 2021, Nosrat served as a food columnist for The New York Times Magazine and co-hosted the podcast Home Cooking. Born in San Diego, California, she was raised in University City and attended La Jolla High School. Nosrat's parents emigrated from Iran to the United States in 1976. She studied English at the University of California, Berkeley.
