Sandy Baron Biography
Sandy Baron (1936-2001) was an American actor and comedian known for his work on stage, in films, and on television. Born Sanford Irving Beresofsky in Brooklyn, New York, Baron grew up in the Brownsville neighborhood. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and received a scholarship to attend Brooklyn College, where he changed his name to Sandy Baron. Baron began his career in the Catskill Mountains resorts, known for their Jewish humor, and later joined the Compass Players Improv Comedy group. He is best known for his recurring role as Jack Klompus on the NBC sitcom Seinfeld. Baron passed away on January 21, 2001.
