Sarah Polley Biography
Sarah Ellen Polley (born January 8, 1979) is a Canadian filmmaker, writer, political activist, and retired actress. She gained fame as a child actress, starring as Ramona Quimby in the television series Ramona and Sara Stanley in Road to Avonlea. Throughout her career, Polley has appeared in numerous feature films, including The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Exotica, The Sweet Hereafter, Guinevere, Go, The Weight of Water, No Such Thing, My Life Without Me, Dawn of the Dead, Splice, and Mr. Nobody. She made her directorial debut with the critically acclaimed film Away from Her, earning her the Canadian Screen Award for Best Director and an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. Polley's second film, Take This Waltz, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
