Sarah Selby
Sarah Elizabeth Selby (August 30, 1905 – January 7, 1980) was an American actress best known for her recurring role as Ma Smalley on TV's Gunsmoke. She began her career as a radio actress and made her screen debut as one of the elephants in Disney's Dumbo (1941). Selby often played minor roles, portraying characters such as town gossips, maiden aunts, and teachers. She also had recurring roles on The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show and appeared in an episode of the Twilight Zone (S5E32 - “Caesar & Me”) with Jackie Cooper. Throughout her career, she starred in numerous films from 1941 to 1978, including Tower of London (1962) and Beyond the Forest (1949).
