Hailing from Waimānalo, Hawaii, she grew up in a conservative Jehovah's Witness household. As a teenager, she secretly explored drag by wearing her sister's clothes in the bathroom. Sasha rose to prominence in 2012 when she won the Miss Continental competition. She gained further recognition when she was crowned the winner of season 15 of RuPaul's Drag Race in 2023.
