Savion Glover is an American tap dancer, actor, and choreographer, born on November 19, 1973. He grew up in Newark, New Jersey, with a diverse musical heritage. His great grandfather, Dick Lundy, was a notable shortstop in the Negro leagues, and his grandfather, Bill Lewis, was a talented big band pianist and vocalist. Glover's grandmother, Anna Lundy Lewis, recognized his musical talent at a young age and nurtured it. He graduated from Newark Arts High School in 1991 and developed his unique style, which he describes as 'young and funk.' Glover's style is characterized by his emphasis on the bass line. With a successful career spanning movies, TV shows, and stage performances, Glover continues to inspire audiences with his rhythmic talent and innovative choreography.
