Saycon Sengbloh is an American actress and singer born on October 23, 1977, in Atlanta, Georgia. She gained recognition for her role in Danai Gurira's play Eclipsed in 2016, which earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play. Sengbloh began her acting journey at Tri-Cities School for the Visual and Performing Arts and later studied music and Spanish at Agnes Scott College before pursuing a career in acting and music. She has appeared in numerous Broadway musicals, including Aida, Wicked, The Color Purple, Hair, Fela!, Motown: The Musical, and Holler If Ya Hear Me. Sengbloh's notable breakthrough came with her role in Eclipsed, a play that revolves around the survival of five Liberian women during the Second Liberian Civil War.
