He is a transgender activist and uses he/him and they/them pronouns. Schofield made history as the first out transgender actor in Daytime television and the first out trans man to earn an Emmy nomination for acting. In addition to his performances, Schofield has produced, written, directed, and consulted on various projects in film, TV, streaming content, and theatre. He is also the author of the book 'Two Truths and a Lie,' a collection of three solo performance scripts which was nominated for the Lambda Literary Awards. Schofield is committed to raising awareness and educating others about transgender issues through his activism and public speaking engagements.
