Sean Maher

Sean Maher (born April 16, 1975) is an American actor known for his portrayal of Simon Tam in the science fiction television series Firefly and its follow-up movie Serenity. Born in Pleasantville, New York, Maher graduated from Byram Hills High School and trained at New York University, earning his drama degree in 1997. He has appeared on stage in productions such as Yerma and Into the Woods. Maher starred as the title character in the TV series Ryan Caulfield: Year One and has also appeared on shows like The $treet, Party of Five, and CSI: Miami. He reprised his role as Simon Tam in the film Serenity and appeared in the Lifetime network movie The Dive.
