Sebastian Junger

Sebastian Junger (born January 17, 1962) is an American journalist, author, and filmmaker known for his in-the-field reporting on dangerous and demanding occupations and infantry combat. He gained prominence with his book The Perfect Storm: A True Story of Men Against the Sea (1997), which was adapted into a major motion picture. Junger has extensively covered the War in Afghanistan, spending over a decade embedded in remote military outposts. His book War (2010) drew from his reporting for Vanity Fair and served as the background for the award-winning documentary Restrepo (2010). Junger's works delve into themes of brotherhood, trauma, and the individual's relationship with society, exploring the far reaches of human experience.
