Seymour Cassel

Seymour Joseph Cassel (January 22, 1935 – April 7, 2019) was an American actor known for his extensive film and television career spanning over 50 years. He gained recognition in the 1960s through his collaborations with writer/director John Cassavetes, appearing in groundbreaking independent films such as Too Late Blues (1961) and Faces (1968), the latter of which earned him an Academy Award nomination and a National Society of Film Critics Award. Cassel also appeared in other notable films including Coogan's Bluff (1968), The Last Tycoon (1976), and Honeymoon in Vegas (1992). He had a recurring collaboration with director Wes Anderson, with roles in Rushmore (1998) and The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), among others.
