Shaggy

Orville Richard Burrell, better known by his stage name Shaggy, is a Jamaican reggae rapper, singer, and songwriter. He gained international fame with hits such as 'It Wasn't Me,' 'Boombastic,' 'In The Summertime,' 'Oh Carolina,' and 'Angel.' Shaggy has been nominated for seven Grammy Awards, winning twice for Best Reggae Album. He also won the Brit Award for International Male Solo Artist in 2002. In 2007, he received the Jamaican Order of Distinction and, in 2022, an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Brown University. Born in Kingston on October 22, 1968, Shaggy moved to New York City at the age of 18. Prior to his music career, he served in the United States Marine Corps during the Persian Gulf War.
