Shakira Barrera

Shakira Barrera (born 1990) is an American dancer and actress known for her role as Yolanda in the Netflix series GLOW. Born in Englewood, New Jersey, to Nicaraguan-American parents, Barrera attended the Bergen County Academies and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Rutgers University, specializing in dance. She made her television debut in 2018 when she joined the cast of GLOW for its second season. Yolanda, her character in the show, is a stripper and a lesbian who brings a fresh dynamic to the wrestling cast. Apart from her acting career, Barrera actively supports a charity that aids disabled people in Nicaragua through monthly donations and fundraising events.
