Shantira Jackson is an American writer, producer, actress, and comedian. She is best known for her work on various television shows, including Busy Tonight, The Amber Ruffin Show, Saved by the Bell, and Big Mouth. Jackson was born and raised in Florida. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Media and Communication Studies from Florida State University in 2008. After moving to Chicago, she trained and performed at The Second City and became a member of the improv group 3Peat. In 2017, Jackson worked as a staff writer for the BET sketch series 50 Central. She later joined Busy Philipps' late-night show Busy Tonight as a writer. Jackson has also written for the Saved by the Bell sequel series and The Amber Ruffin Show. In 2021, she received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.
