Sharon Mitchell Biography
Sharon Mitchell is an American sexologist, former pornographic film actor, and director. Born in Monmouth County, New Jersey, Mitchell was raised Roman Catholic and began her career as an off-Broadway actress and dancer. In the mid-1970s, she transitioned into the adult film industry, appearing in movies like Captain Lust and the Pirate Women (1977) and The Devil in Miss Jones 2 (1982). Mitchell also had small roles in mainstream films such as Tootsie (1982) and The Deer Hunter (1978). In 1998, she founded the Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation (AIM), which provided monthly testing for adult film performers. Mitchell's career includes approximately 1,000 films, including 38 as a director.
