Sheila Margaret MacRae (née Stephens; September 24, 1921 – March 6, 2014) was an English-born American actress, singer, and dancer. MacRae appeared in films such as Caged (1950), Backfire (1950), and Sex and the Single Girl (1964). On television, she played herself in an episode of I Love Lucy and portrayed Alice Kramden on 52 episodes of The Jackie Gleason Show from 1966 to 1970. MacRae also had her own short-lived television series, The Sheila MacRae Show, and played Madelyn Richmond in 1991 on General Hospital. Born in London in 1921, she was evacuated to Long Island, New York, with her parents in 1939. MacRae finished high school at the age of 15.
